The film, TV and electronics industries are pushing the idea that 3D is the future of entertainment. But, asks Stephen Pritchard, does the public actually want it?
Fast Pitch!, launched in 2006, boasts a feature-rich platform combined with an active user-base generating a significant amount of content including press and blogs. The site could be described as a mix of many different business connection websites. It has a bit of PRWeb.com and a bit of LinkedIn, rolled in with some new innovations of its own. Some of its most important features are those that allow members to create a highly interactive profile that includes video, podcasts, logos and headshots. Additionally, users can post and distribute press releases to other members, promote articles within the network and advertise events. It is already the 3,000th most popular site in the US, according to rankings site Alexa Internet. The platform caters for small- to mid-sized business owners, marketing executives and public relations professionals who are looking for more than just the ability to make new connections. The company offers an impressive set of tools to help its members increase their overall visibility by making sure all content is optimised for search engines. Fast Pitch! also uses information contained in each user's profile to match buyers and sellers. Finally, the site's design is smart and well-organised – not unlike Facebook.
