Thanks to its dazzling clean tech know how, Israel is leading the way in green technology, says Brian Davis of CleanBiz Horizons

 CLEANING UP IN ITS FIELD

ISRAEL’S RENEWABLE ENERGY sector and its water and cleantech businesses are at the forefront of their field. One of the country’s largest areas of expertise in the cleantech sector is water, particularly drip irrigation, water recycling, water treatment and security.

For a long time Israelis have proactively reclaimed agricultural land from the desert and reused most of their precious water (Israel currently reuses 70% of its waste water) because the country has very limited natural resources. In other words, cost-effective solutions for a number of global water challenges are recognised as essential for everyday life here.

Expanded implementation of these clean technologies requires selective introductions to potential global partners. CleanBiz Horizons LLC (a US-based consultancy to several leading global cleantech and green businesses) already collaborates with extraordinary Israelis like international negotiation expert Michael Tsur, and currently seeks key strategic partnerships and investments for its expanding portfolio of innovative Israeli technology clients.

With Israel’s standout cleantech sector now exciting experts all over the world, CleanBiz Horizons will be participating in the Cleantech 2011 exhibition, to be held on 5–6 July, in Tel Aviv (www.israeltrade.org.au/cleantech-2011). Brian Davis serves as co- chair of its International Water Symposium.

Brian H. Davis, CEO of CleanBiz Horizons LLC, has 30 years’ experience in cleantech as an environmental attorney inside the US Environmental Protection Agency, 3M and EcolabInc. Davis is President of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce of Minnesota, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School since 1997.
